About Us

Karl was born and raised in Lancaster county, PA, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in electrical engineering.

Liesl was born in Watertown, NY, and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in German Literature.

Both of us grew up in Christian homes, and early in life placed our faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. However, we both struggled with trying to live the Christian life in our own strength, and didn’t know how to communicate the gospel to those around us.

In college, we both got involved with Campus Crusade Bible studies. It was there that we learned about living in God’s strength and letting Him be in charge of our lives. God used Campus Crusade for Christ to show us how to know Him better and talk about Him clearly.

Our desire to serve God in full-time Christian ministry comes from the joy of seeing God change people’s lives. We joined Campus Crusade’s staff to use our gifts and talents to help others know Christ in the same personal way that we do.

Our Mission

After serving at the World Headquarters for 16 and 14 years respectively, Karl and Liesl have now taken that experience to Keynote, the music and creative arts ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Keynote exists to change the world with the love of God. We do it through music and creative arts with a passion for life change.
We introduce people to Jesus by blending stories of what God has done in our lives with the message of what He did for the world. Much of this is done through partnering with our Campus ministry and other ministries, to enhance their efforts and to enable those we reach to get connected locally.

We also partner with ministries all over the world to help them reach their target audiences by spreading the Gospel and speaking the language of the culture. We even offer training and have helped start many other music/creative arts ministries in other countries.

Karl serves as Keynote’s IT Director, coordinating the use of technology so that every Keynote missionary is as effective as he can be.

Liesl, who has always had a deep connection to music ministry, will invest time in projects at the office.

The language is music–all kinds. On the radio, in the movies, all around us, a spiritual discussion is taking place. We want to tap into that discussion and help people make the connection to Jesus.

Each year God uses Keynote and all of the other ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ to bring the gospel to tens of millions of people in every area of the world.

Our Means

Like many other missionaries, Campus Crusade for Christ staff members depend on the consistent financial support of a team of concerned individuals in order to carry on their ministry. It is partners like these who make our ministry with Keynote possible.

Would you be a part of our team of ministry partners through your financial and/or prayer support?

If you’d like to help, you can email us with this contact form, or even give online.  Jump directly to our giving page, or read about the various options like bank transfers and credit card giving at give.ccci.org.

Thanks!!
